Default Import Contacts from Excel

I tried to import an Excel database to Outlook. I went into the file/import
section of outlook, identified the excel database etc. It asked me to name
the fields in excel. I did so and then matched the fields as it instructed
me to do. I now cannot get into anything in outlook. Outlook hangs as soon
as I get into the program, not even opening the new contacts folder that I
just created. Help!
