My old hard drive died, but I got my entire Outlook pst file onto a storage
drive. Now when I bring that into my new Outlook, I have all of my old emails and sub-folders, but my many Contact sub-folders are nowhere to be seen. |

How are your "bringing it into Outlook?"
You should never import a PST file. Just open it. You will find everything it contains and can copy whatever you want from it. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Eddie" wrote in message ... I did open it (not import) -- sorry for the imprecise wording. No subfolders
are showing under the main Contact folder. "Eddie" wrote: My old hard drive died, but I got my entire Outlook pst file onto a storage drive. Now when I bring that into my new Outlook, I have all of my old emails and sub-folders, but my many Contact sub-folders are nowhere to be seen. |

Then you are either opening the wrong PST file or you failed to back up your
PST file correctly. Opening any PST file will show all the data it contains. Are you using a view that provides a comprehensive view of your entire folder hierarchy, such as Folder List view? -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Eddie" wrote in message ... I never "backed-up" the pst file at all. I merely copied it from its
location on my old C drive to my mass storage G drive. No selections, subsetting, etc. took place. All of my many, complicated Inbox subfolders are showing up. But there is no contact subfoldering at all. "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Then you are either opening the wrong PST file or you failed to back up your PST file correctly. What you see is what you copied.
Copying a PST file does not lose any data. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Eddie" wrote in message ... I never "backed-up" the pst file at all. Where are you looking? The Folder List will give you the most complete view.

I am looking in the folder list. No other folders show up under Contacts.
Only the main Contact folder. "Sue Mosher [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Where are you looking? Then the logical answer is as Russ said, the folder didn't exist in the file you copied. Outlook doesn't just randomly delete folders from a ..pst file.
