My Folders List shows 3 Personal folders which I cannot Close or delete.
I think this is because I have deleted the corresponding data files. Is there any way to remove these folders from the Folders List. I have tried scanpst.exe to no effect. I cannot find any setting to change to remove them There is nothing pertinent on the Knowledge Base as there they appear to list only problems with corrupt pst files. I am not using Excahange but only Outlook 2003 with normal POP style Mail servers Thanks |

Try using the mail applet in the control panel to remove the offending pst
files (the data files button). (Note: Mail applet doesn't show unless you are in the "classic view". Look in upper left of control panel window for the link to switch between classic and category.) /neo ps - i'm assuming your operating system is windows xp. "JF" wrote in message ... And if that doesn't work (as it probably won't), you may need to either just ignore it or create a new mail profile.

My problem was that data files (.pst) in my %HOME_DIR%\Local
Settings\Applications Data\Microsoft\Outlook do not compleetely determine what is in Outlook. There is also the Profile to consider. So creating a new profile and importing the old data into the new setup worked a treat. Thanks to Sue Mosher (i'll recommend your book), and thanks also to Neo "Sue Mosher [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: And if that doesn't work (as it probably won't), you may need to either just ignore it or create a new mail profile. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.turtleflock.com/olconfig/index.htm and Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "neo [mvp outlook]" wrote in message ...
