When I open Outlook Express, version 6.00.2900.2180.(xpsp_sp2_rtm
040803-2158), operating system xp pro sp2, I get the error message --------- “Your server you are connected to is using a security certificate that could not be verified. The certificate’s CN name does not match the passed value.” This happens when I have the advanced email settings set to what my ISP has updated to -------“This server requires a secure connection SSL checked and the ports to SMPT 465 and the POP3 port to 995.” I am of the opinion that the problem may be in the Internet Settings. I have read and read and tried this and that and it is still there. My 2nd computer, an old gateway running windows 2000 pro does not have that problem. I have the email settings the same updated way. Now, the C drive on that computer was complete reformatted and reinstalled about a month. I do not feel like doing that on my main computer as it takes forever. Calling the ISP is a waste of time. If you have any solutions outside of reinstalling xp pro, my ears are open. Thanks |

Does 'checked' mean that you have reentered the settings?
-- Ronald Sommer "Darius Mead" wrote in message news ![]() Dear --------- my server names and settings on both computers are updated to their current requirements of ATT or Sbcglobal, whatever you want to call them. Yes. The settings are as ATT wants them to be. They are all checked and the
names are updated to AT & T.
