That suggests that there are other contacts that are only seen by another
identity. How many identities have you created on the machine in question? Please review the article at this link since it most likely can answer all of your questions: http://www.insideoe.com/files/wab.htm -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/pr...8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped. "Bluesky" wrote in message ups.com... Hi Jim, Thanks for your response. There are only 3 people in the group. I have tried the WAB command, still can't not see the contact list. But I think all the contacts should be in the address book because when I try to add one of my friend into the address book, the system told me that he has already in the addressbook. Jenny Jim Pickering wrote: How many contacts are in the group? Try opening your address book by using the Start/Run line and type: WAB /a That will open the address book so that all identies contacts are visible. Then open the group and see how many contacts are listed there. I can see a group under the "Main Identity's contacts" when I open my address book but no contacts there. Jenny Jim Pickering wrote: How many contacts are in your Address Book? sigh That was /not/ a suggestion to install Outlook, just a question. By
doing so, you may have complicated matters. If you don't use Outlook, uninstall it. Do you have this Registry key?... HKEY_CURRENT_USER \Software \Microsoft \WAB \WAB4 If not, STOP; If so, is there a DWORD named UseOutlook (NB: no space) and is its value set to 1 (one)? If not, STOP; If so, Address Book is configured to share contacts with Outlook, even if you don't use it (can happen with the install of Office). Change the value to 0 (zero), Address Book should be available to you and all should be well. (If that DWORD is not present, don't create it, and don't alter any other DWORD values.) Note that any changes (additions, deletions, edits) made while sharing was enabled will not be available (displayed) in Address Book when sharing is disabled. cf. http://www.insideoe.com/files/wab.htm#share http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=191946 -- ~PA Bear Bluesky wrote: Thanks for your answer, Robear. I just came back to office, so I can check my Registy file.
Unforturnately, there is no such Registry Key there. I have copied the wab file to another computer, it seemed the same as on my computer. but on the other computer, I can add new contact into the address book and can see it in the right pane. But when I refresh the Main Identity's Contact, the new contact there disappear again. I can find the people I added.
