Default No Address Book!

Thanks Russ

Neither does Outlook. Outlook's Address Book is simply a view of your
Contacts. Always has been.

My question is as I first stated in message #1 ... I don't have an address
book ...
A picture is worth a thousand words ... screenshot here

Sounds normal. So what is your question?

It occured to me it might be a good idea to post the outcome of adding
the
Outlook Address Book service. Unfortunately, there is no change.

When I have a new email composition window, I go to To... and I don't
have
an address book, the drop-down menu pick Contacts ... and everyone is
there.

Is it greyed out and checked or greyed out an unchecked?
Have you added the Outlook Address Book Service to this profile?

Hi Russ, I've been trying to help myself and see how busy you've
been.
You
sure help a lot of people.

Thought I would post more information ...

By "resolved addresses," I think you mean when they appear as 'live'
links
in Contacts. All of my email addresses are underlined (live links).

I right clicked on Contacts folder, went to Properties Outlook
Address
Book and the name of the address book is "Contacts" and "Show this
folder
as
an e-mail Address Book" is checked, however greyed-out.

"Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote:

Importing rarely creates Contacts correctly. You either didn't map
fields
correctly or Outlook failed to resolve the electronic addresses, so
the
Contacts cannot appear in the address book view.
Are you certain you configured this folder as an email address
book?
If
so,
open an Contact and see if it has a resolved electronic address.

I imported a .csv address book from Windows Live Mail and it
appeared
in
Outlook 2007 as contacts. So, when I create a new message and
click
on
To:
it says No entries in this Address Book! The drop down menu
indicates
Outlook Address Book and Contacts are availble under Outlook
Address
Book
and
then I can select an email address.

How can I get my Contacts to also be my Address Book?

Thanks!
