Hi. I recently imported contacts into Outlook 2007 from Excel. The
information seems to have imported correctly. The only problem is that the full name is shown backwards. e.g. Smith Bob (no comma). When I click on the full name dialog box, the last name is in the correct place Last Name: Smith and respectively First Name: Bob, but it just displays backwards in the full name field and in the contact list and on the business card. 'File as' is correct as well e.g. File as: Smith, Bob. That is fine... I have tried to change the current view customization, sorting by full name, last name, first name, none, etc. Under Tools, Options, Contact Options I have set the Default Full Name order as First (Middle) Last. I currently and usually have the current view set as Phone List. Any ideas for me??? I would really apprecaite it. I have been trying to fix this for 2 days. -- /jz |

One of the many limitations of creating Contacts by importing is that none
of your derived fields will obey your preferences. The only way you can change a derived field after it is incorrect is to recreate the Contact or run code. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "jzeeeeee" wrote in message ... Hi. Is the code that you need to run to fix this problem readily available
somewhere? "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: One of the many limitations of creating Contacts by importing is that none of your derived fields will obey your preferences. I am having the almost the same problem. I have checked everywhere and
cannot find a solution. Actually, my imported records display OK. However, when I add a new record and put the name as "John Smith" and then hit the Full Name button, it is filed as First Name "Smith" and Last Name "John". If in this screen, you enter First Name "John" and Last Name "Smith", it displays in the Full Name "Smith John". How can I get it to now display "John Smith" and have it recognize that "John" is the first name? |

Impossible to troubleshoot. You failed to tell us what preference have you
set for Full Name format. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Sherree Gorman" wrote in message ... I am having the almost the same problem. I have checked everywhere and cannot find a solution.
