We have recently had Exchange rolled out for us - I still have Outlook 2000
(that's their next project now). When I look at my list of email in my Inbox, the "From" field is simply showing the display name, rather than the full email address of the sender. I prefer to be able to see the full email address there. I have been through the Outlook help, Microsoft Support on the web and done some pretty heavy searching through google without finding an answer. I know I can right click and select options and look at the complete header info. What I want is to be able to display the full email address in the inbox display. Any help? |

Thanks Russ, but that is not the direction I was heading here. That would
work perfectly for people that are already on my contact list, but does nothing for me if I am trying to keep an eye open for spoofed addresses or potential spam. Browsing through other email address display related questions on here, I have now found what I was looking for. Seems insane that it takes a specially configured field for something as straight forward as the FROM address. If I go ahead and open a message, I can see: Sender ] But that format does not exist when looking at the Inbox. Seems borken to me. Regardless, thanks for the speedy reply, and here are the links to the solution: http://cameron-webb.com/blog/archive/2005/10/20/639.aspx and how to use that config file(they relate the instructions for SCL but they are valid for this CFG file as well): http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2004/05/26/142607.aspx "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: For that you must edit the "Email Display As" field. In Outlook 2000 you can only expose that field by double clicking in the email field in the Contact Record. All 3 of the more recent versions already display email addresses that way and they also expose the Display As: field in the Contact Record. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Allan Ross" Allan wrote in message ... Yeah. I overlooked the fact that you were talking about viewing the Sender's
email address in the Inbox. Inasmuch as "Outlook, by default, shows whatever garbage display name the spammers have put into the message..." the sender remains in control of what you will see in the Inbox. Configuring Outlook to do otherwise requires a custom form. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Allan Ross" wrote in message ... Thanks Russ, but that is not the direction I was heading here.
