My boss is running office 07 and when he searches in his contacts it returns
no results even though you can see the name sitting in phone list. He has a laptop and is running in cache and because he takes his laptop home so it needs to be in cache so his emails are stored up to date when he turns it on at home. I suspect this is why its not searching his contacts properly. I should add that any new additions or changes to old contacts it will find, just nothing pre the change from 03 to 07. Any ideas on what to do? thanks |

We run Windows XP, MS Exchange 2000, Office 2007 suite. The search method is
by typing a name into the Search Contacts field that sits on the top right hand side of screen. If you type the name into the Search Address Books it will find it but not if you input into Search Contacts. And I have checked that the contacts are marked as email address books. It seems that I need to resave the contacts file as something else so that 2007 will pick it up...I dont know...and I dont have an IT person to help me here. Any ideas on what to do? thanks This happened to me shortly after I installed Windows Desktop search. [Although I have installed a few other programs lately, like MagicJack.] I get the message: "Search results may be incomplete because items are still being indexed. Click here for more details." When I click for more details, it always says "Outlook is currently indexing your items." This message never changes and there is no indication that it is actually working on the index. I really miss this nifty feature of Outlook. Al |
