Using the search returns no results outlook 2007

My boss is running office 07 and when he searches in his contacts it
returns
no results even though you can see the name sitting in phone list. He has

laptop and is running in cache and because he takes his laptop home so it
needs to be in cache so his emails are stored up to date when he turns it
on
at home. I suspect this is why its not searching his contacts properly. I
should add that any new additions or changes to old contacts it will find,
just nothing pre the change from 03 to 07. Any ideas on what to do? thanks
