Outlook 2003 (Office XP)
When composing a new email (from the Outlook Inbox), is there a way to get the contacts listed in the Select Names list (by clicking on the "To:" button) to display the "Display As" feild from the contacts form rastaher than the "File As" field? I have multiple email addresses for a number of clients and would like to list them by the "Display As" email field rather than the "File As" name of the contact. As it is, there are identicle multiple listings for each contact (one for each email address in that record) and I can't tell which address will be used until I add them to the "Add Recipients" list. ALSO, I would like to display ONLY contacts with email addresses (in that same window). As it is now, it lists a lot of contacts who have no email address at all. Thanks Jeff |

No. The only configuration you can change in the Outlook Address Book is to
sort by "First, Last" or by "File As" -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "JJRamCHS" wrote in message ... Sad
![]() You'd think, being displayed from the email window, it would have those filters built in. Oh, well... thanks for the info Is there any difference in this respect in Outlook 2007? No, not at all. The Outlook Address Book was never designed to be the
preferred view for recipient selection. All development has gone into Contacts Folders. Those views can be filtered and sorted in more ways than you could ever want. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "JJRamCHS" wrote in message ...
