Default Membership in a Distribution List should be identified in Contact

Previous versions of Outlook provided info on membership in a distribution
list for each contact. I have 800 - 1000 contacts and approx 20
distribution lists. Some of these lists contain 200 contacts, or more.
Managing this is impossible with the current version of Outlook (2003).

I've never seen any version of Outlook "identify" a contact's DL membership. WHere do you see that, for example, in Outlook 2002?

Sue:

Not sure about 2002, but in XP, 2000 and previous versions it was at the
bottom of the page of the "Notes" Tab.

Are you referring to the Contacts controls? Those can link only to other contacts, not to DLs.

My Contacts pages show categories but not distribution lists. Could this be
what you are thinking of? BTW, XP is 2002.

It would be a good thing if the distribution list would be an automatic link
in the Contacts field, but it is not, and distribution lists can't be
included as contacts in that field AFAIK.
