I have created a number of contacts but when I use the Find Names tool I
always get 'No entries were found', no matter how much information I supply about the contact I am seeking. |

Since OWA is a part of Exchange, probably best to ask in an Exchange group
for a complete answer. Having said that, are the contacts kept in a .pst file or the mailbox? -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. What happens if you open the Contacts folder in OWA? OWA searches the GAL

When I open the Contacts folder the list of contacts is displayed. If I
select a contact I can then get that address displayed in the 'To' space of a new message. My problem is that to enter other addresses on that message (without laboriously typing them in) I need to use the Find Names facility and it seems incapable of finding any name - it keeps saying 'No entries were found'. I don't know what GAL stands for! "Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook]" wrote: What happens if you open the Contacts folder in OWA? OWA searches the GAL by default. "Global Address List" - it is your list of mail-enabled Exchange mailboxes
and is what 5.5 searches by default. You haven't mentioned what version of Outlook/Exchange you are using. It makes no difference whether I search GAL or my Contacts, the search of GAL
just takes a little longer. I am accessing OWA via Internet Explorer 6 and I copied the following about OWA Microsoft® Office Outlook® Web Access for Exchange Server 2003 Thanks for taking the time to help. I haven't as yet contacted any other group "Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook]" wrote: "Global Address List" - it is your list of mail-enabled Exchange mailboxes and is what 5.5 searches by default.
