I copied my PST file to a new file server. After adding the "new" pst file to
the profile, making it the default and then removing the "old" Personal Folder from the profile, all my mail folders are OK and contain my mail. My Contacts are also intact. However, when I go to compose a new message and click on "To" to bring up addresses, there are three "Contacts" in addition to the "Address Book". One is blank, another apparently is missing some addressed and appears to be an old version of my Contacts. One of the files is the correct one. How can I remove the erroneous Contacts folders? |

Whenever you change PST files, you must also configure the Outlook Address
Book to use the new PST file. The Outlook Address Book Service is deeply dumb and cannot keep up with you or any changes you make. You must manually enable your current Contacts Folders as email address books in their properties. You must also remove the old references to Contacts Folders he Tools E-mail accounts View or change existing directories or address books Outlook Address Book Change. It is worth remembering that the Outlook Address Book is a service that Microsoft has not seen fit to update, improve, or otherwise make functional since it first appeared in Outlook 97. They seem intent to force this turd upon us forever. If you are hoping things will improve in the next version, don't hold your breath. Most of us have tried to follow Microsoft's lead and found ways to abandon the Address Book interface forever. They obviously do not intend for us to use it. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "OneSilverEagle" wrote in message ... I copied my PST file to a new file server.
