Default network Outlook on home network

I have a home network, a wired PC with Windows XP, SP3, and a wireless laptop
with Vista. I want to install Outlook 2007 on both machines, and put the .PST
file in a shared folder so if I launch Outlook from either computer, I am
getting the same information (email, contacts, calendar). Will this work? Do
I need to do anything else, or is it as easy as this?

MS Doesnt support the use of the OL data file, pst, over a network as it can
and does lead to corruption

I want to perform a similar arrangement to Donna's. Is there a product that
will work for this configuration? I thought about an excel form but that gets
clugy and I would prefer a calendar type app.
I want to create a list / daily diary of files to be dealt with. I don't
have an exchange server and don't want to go there. Using a shared drive and
this product or app does not need to be accessed by users at the same time.
It only needs to be available to more than one user.
Any suggestions?
