Hi
In Outlook 2002 when I try to click on a link in an email to open it I get the message that it is blocked. I have reduced the security settings under Tools-Macro to Low but still no joy. What is the problem and how can I open links by clicking on them? Thanks Regards |

Blocked:: is not caused by macro security. It's caused by blocked external
content settings - enable blocked content on the infobar. Re-added OP's post to provide context for replies herein. John wrote: In Outlook 2002 when I try to click on a link in an email to open it I get the message that it is blocked. It's caused by blocked external content settings - enable blocked content on the infobar. See http://www.slipstick.com/mail1/blocked.htm for more info. OL2002 does not have the ability to block externally linked content (and one of the reasons why I ponder switching from OL2002 to OL2003 but not to OL2007). There's no infobar saying to allow the blocked external content because there's no option to block external content. If it isn't an attachment that is being blocked by OL2002 in an e-mail and really is a URL within the body of the message then some reasons are that they installed Firefox or the URL filetype is undefined. Maybe it was a firewall warning. The OP never did give the exact error message but instead described it. Can't even tell if the OP saw the error message in Outlook, Internet Explorer, or a popup from some other program. |
