Default outlook 2003 alive

after I close outlook 2003 down for the first time it will reopen few
minutes later in a minimized state and I need to use task manger to close
it. How I know this is avast popup warns me and then outlook is seen for a
few seconds on the start toolbar. What gives, did a virus check and nothing
found.

Disable Avast from interacting with Outlook and see if it stops.
