Hi guys,
I have been unable to view attachments of any file type using Outlook 2007 on Vista Ultimate. * When I try to view an attachment, for example a GIF file, I get a message box saying "The operation Failed. An object could not be found." * When I try to save the attachment, I get a message box saying "Cannot save the attachment." * When I try to "preview" the file, I get a page with a message saying "This file cannot be previewed. Try opening the file in the program in which it was created." I can, however, view, preview and save the same files on Windows XP / Office 2003. Is anyone able to shed any light on this please? - Graham |

Hi Diane,
Diagnostics revealed nothing. Did it twice. The behaviour occurs no matter the file type. Hi Diane,
The folder had a lot of stuff in it, so I cleared it of all but cookies. No change - the problem still exists. - Graham "Diane Poremsky {MVP}" wrote in message ... have you checked the secure temp folder? http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/securetemp.htm -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours Need Help with Common Tasks? http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/ Outlook 2007: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/ Outlook Tips by email: Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Subscribe to Exchange Messaging Outlook newsletter: "Graham R Seach" wrote in message ... Hi Diane,
Yes you're right; I had deleted temporary files in Internet Explorer. I then looked in c:\users\gseach.andromeda\appdata\local\microsoft\ windows\temporary internet files\content.outlook\alq0yqk4 ....but the folder was empty. This is the folder pointed to in the Registry. - Graham "Diane Poremsky {MVP}" wrote in message ... was that the internet temp or the content.outlook folder? -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours Need Help with Common Tasks? http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/ Outlook 2007: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/ Outlook Tips by email: Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Subscribe to Exchange Messaging Outlook newsletter: "Graham R Seach" wrote in message ...
