click on Tools, Options, Email options, Advanced Email options....from here

In Advanced Email options there are only two options dealing with what to happen when new mail arrives: 1. Play sound 2. It's not in the Advanced email options then. Tools Options E-mail Options

That's why we asked what version is being used. In *Outlook 2003*, it's under E-Mail Options - Advanced E-mail Options. I guess the general answer is, it's somewhere around E-mail Options.
