Hi !
My platform is as follows: Windows 2003 Server SP1 Exchange Server 2003 SP2 Outlook 2003 clients I have a few issues dealings with Contacts in the Outlook client of one user. He had a Contacts folder with sub-folders. We deleted this contacts, and sub-folders as well, to move them to somewhere else (in a Public folder, in order to share them with other users). The issue is that when this user creates a new message, by doing New Message, and then clicking on the TO: field, the Contacts sub-folders are still visible - but empty of course, and popping a warning whenever you try to select them. Is it possible to get rid of this weird view, without wiping out the Windows NT user profile wich is fastidious (mainly for the user...). Deleting the mail account on the client desktop in Control Panel, Mail account, is not an help, because the same issue is back as soon as I re-create the Microsoft Exchanger Server mail account. Any idea how to "really" reset this Outlook profile? Help appreciated Nicolas |

You should have turned off the option to expose those now-deleted folders in the Outlook Address Book before you deleted them. Now to fix the problem, you'll need to remove the Outlook Address Book service, restart Outlook and add it back in.

Delete the contact folders. they should be visible. Also, change the default
view. Open the address book and go to the tools menu - options. Nue "Nicolas Macarez" wrote in message ... Hi ! There is absolutely no way you should have been able to delete the Contacts folder (Outlook should have complained and refused to delete it) and putting them in a public folder is only one way to share them. Thanks Brian,
As I said in my initial post, I didn't delete the Contacts folder (impossible) but I did delete the contacts inside the Contacts folder and the sub-folders beneath. I'll try what you tell me at the end of your post, as soon as I'm back to my client. Many thanks Nicolas "Brian Tillman" wrote in message ... Thanks Brian,
I did what you said in a previous post - and it worked: I have now a clean TO: field when I create a new message (without extra empty sub-folders) Regards NIcolas "Brian Tillman" wrote in message ...
