word cannot open the document: user does not have access privileges
The above error message is occuring on a users computer when he
attempts to open a word or excel attachment directly from an outlook
email message.
This is occuring on only some Word and Excel attachments, not all.
Other Word and Excel document attachments open directly from the
Outlook emal message without any problem.
When the user saves the attachment to his desktop, the documents open
properly.
Others in my office are able to open these attachments from outlook
without any problems.

Thanks for replying Brian
I think if this was the case then all word and excel attachments would
not open.
Again, this only happens with some of the word, excel attachments, not
all of them.
The user is the IT supervisor here, and i am sure he has all virus
definition updates and office updates necessary. Running office 2003

Try emptying the Outlook Secure Temp Folder.

version of outlook and if 2003, are you using IRM? What is the exact error
message? (Try clicking in the error and pressing Ctrl+c to copy it.)

No we are not using IRM.
This is only happening to 1 user at this time.
I and others can open the document directly from Outlook with no
problem.
He is running Outlook 2003
Thanks Diane
