I've added an IMAP account to my Outlook 2007 (in addition to my main
Exchange account). Right now, all incoming mail is in the Inbox. All sent mail is in the Inbox. And deleted messages don't get deleted... they stay in the Inbox with a line through them. I'd like to have sent messages go to a Sent folder, and deleted messages go to a Deleted folder. How do I massage Outlook to accomplish this? -- * John Oliver http://www.john-oliver.net/ * |

Do Tools-Account Settings-Change-More Settings-Folders Tab and deleted messages go to a Deleted folder. That's not how IMAP works in 2007. IMAP mirrors what's on the server so you don't get a deleted items folder. |

Sent messages should go to the local Sent folder in Outlook - if they are
going to your Inbox, you must be using Gmail. It's goofy. You can use rules to move messages to the Sent folder - disable the option to automatically save sent items then create 2 'after sending' rules, one for each account, that put the items in the correct folder when you send. Deleted messages are marked for deletion then purged. Use a view to hide deleted items so they aren't 'in your way'. Or upgrade to Outlook 2010 - it handles imap accounts better. -- "John Oliver" wrote in message .. . I've added an IMAP account to my Outlook 2007 (in addition to my main Exchange account).
