Default How to set the email rules?

How would you receive messages not for your e-mail account? Perhaps you mean
people in your Address Book only?

Start with the Address Book only rule and as you get messages you want from
people not in your Address Book, (E-mail from businesses, bills, your ISP,
etc.), you can add them to the rule.

Tools | Message Rules | Mail | New.

Box 1 - Where the From line contains people {check it}

Box 2 - Check: Delete it & Stop processing more rules if you want messages
not in the Address Book to go to Deleted Items, or you can create a Junk
folder and direct them there.

You can choose Delete it from server, but be careful as you will never have
any messages downloaded to any folder if you choose this option.

Box 3 - Click on the blue words Contains People

Click on the first address to highlight it. Scroll down to the end and hold
down the Ctrl key while you click on the last address. This will highlight
them all. Right click on them and click on From in the menu that appears.

Now click Options and Choose: Message *does not contain* the people below in
the top Options box, and choose: Message matches any one of the people below
in the bottom Options box.

OK your way out of the new rule.

Now, only addresses you entered will be downloaded to your Inbox. You will
not see any other e-mail.

Don't forget, if you add someone to your Address Book, you will have to add
them to the rule. It will not be added automatically.

Be sure to see these links for more options.

Default How to set the email rules?

Messages /to/ those addresses only?

That is a little tough.

Where the To or CC line contains
Delete it & Stop processing more rules
Click on the blue words Contains People
Enter each address one at a time and click Add.
Click Options and check: Does Not Contain

This should accept any message that has any of your addresses in it, but it
will also accept messages that have addresses other than yours as long as
yours is included. You will not get any messages that are BCC'd to these
addresses either.

Try it out and if it seems to work OK, you can change Delete it & Stop
processing more rules to Delete it from server. Right now, messages you
don't want are going to Deleted Items.

Another thing you may want to try is diverting the messages.

First, create a local folder for each address.

Then create a message rule for each address.

Where the message is from the specified account.
Move it to the specified folder & Stop processing more rules.
Click on: Specified Account and enter the account name for one of your
folders.
Click on: Specified Folder and select the folder you created.
Name the rule.

Repeat for each address.

Move these rules to the top of the rules list and the incoming messages will
be separated into their respective folders.

Other messages will go to the Inbox which is essentially a junk folder now
and you can delete them from there.

Default How to set the email rules?

I read that Eric only wants email from 3 addresses.

Click on: Specified Account and enter the account name for one of your
folders.

'Specified account' would be an account setup under Tools, Accounts.
