Several times each day OE goes 'stale' with the noted error. My solution is
to reboot, then it works fine for awhile. Is there a fix for this problem?
Thanks for your help - GB

The entire error message would be helpful, but try this first. It's the most
likely cause.

Turn off e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer
of protection that eats up CPUs and causes a multitude of problems such as
time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A/V program will
continue to protect you sufficiently.

In addition to Bruce's reply, what kind of Internet connection do you
have? Dial-up, DSL, Cable, Wi-Fi, etc.?

When OE has a problem, are you still able to use Internet Explorer and
other Internet applications.

If IE and other applications are working OK, you might try just waiting
a few minutes and then try Send and Receive on OE again. If that works,
it would point to an intermittent mail server problem.
