Default shortcuts don't open automatically

Why don't highlighted shortcuts open when I click them? I have to
highlight, copy to address bar and press enter.

I tried the links you gave me and it didn't help because explorer is the
default browser. Links work from the news group, but they don't work from
email in the inbox.

Do I ned to change something in OE?

If nothing happens when you click a link:
Open Windows Explorer.
Go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types.
Scroll down to URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol and select it.
Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version.
Select 'open'.
Click Edit.

"Application used to perform this action" should read:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" -nohome
(Check the path to iexplore.exe to make sure that is correct and use the
double quotes.)

DDE should be checked and in the boxes below it you should have:

#1:
"%1",,-1,0,,,,
#2
IExplore
#3 (blank)

#4
WWW_OpenURL

URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol with Privacy should be the same.

Sometimes it is necessary to uncheck Use DDE.

The reply from Mac fixed it. It was a complicated fix and I'm really glad I
didn't have to sit with a tech on the phone to do it.

I just discovered this news group and I'm really glad I did. You guys are
great!

Lance

Thanks mac. I have tried all kinds of fixes for this. The one that
eventually worked was to simply uncheck DDE in windows explorer!
