You cannot attach a folder to an email message, only a single file. Either
your system is corrupted or you are confusing the issue. Please try again
and then explain exactly what you are doing, what error you encounter, and
whether or not you are using any antivirus program to scan incoming and
outgoing mail.

I am trying to select one file from the folder and it does not let me do
that. When I browse to the directory I am able to attach the file. I don't
want to attach folder to the email just one file.

When you attach a file, you must click the Attach icon on the Toolbar, then
Browse to the Folder containing the file and select that file. You say that
works. How else did you expect to be able to attach a file?

I just do not understand what you are hoping to do and your reply is not
very helpful.

Are you going through the Insert, File Attachment and when you see the
folder in the that you want and you click on it instead of opening the
folder, the folder name gets attached with a LNK file extension?

That happens when folder you click on is actually a link (shortcut) to
the folder and not the folder itself. OE attaches the shortcut which is
worthless.

You need to determine the physical location of the folder and navigate
to the folder that via the Insert, File Attachment. Or else open the
folder via Windows File Explorer and drag-and-drop the desired files to
the OE message.
