When I have IE set as my default browser, the links in OE work fine.
However, when I have firefox as my default browser, they don't work at all. Any ideas? |

They do for me (not that I normally use Outlook Express - I use
Thunderbird.) Are you using the latest version of Firefox? There was a problem with the way an early version (pre 1.0) responded to hyperlinks in other programs but this has been fixed for a long time. Perhaps reinstalling Firefox will fix it. The PC Guru - www.the-pc-guru.com |

Are you sure Firefox was the "default browser"?
That seems to be a different concept from simply being the program used to open html, etc, file types. That's the "file association". You don't describe how you came to this pickle, but could it be something like this? I upgraded Firefox to 1.04, while keeping the old version around just in case. I changed the file associations to the 1.04 version, and 1.04 was used when I'd click on an html file on my desktop, say -- but whenever I'd click on a link in email (OE) it would try to open with old version and generate an error message. Problem was solved when in Firefox (1.04) I did ToolsOptionsGeneral, Default Browser Far as I can figure there is no direct way for the user to set the "default browser", you have to depend on a program such as Firefox or IE (there's apparently even a utility DefaultBrowser from snapfile that does just this :-).
