Hi,
I use OE as newsreader to follow aviation related NG's. When I want to save images, I rightclick on the image in the message preview and choose Save picture as... from the context menu. Then the Save As dialog pops up, which is always pointing to the My Pictures folder. I'd like it to default to an folder on my D-drive. I've searched Help and the Registry to accomplish this, but have gotten nowhere... Anyone who can enlighten me on this one? TIA Steven |

Instead of using Right click, Save Picture, use File, Save Attachments.
That should remember the last folder that you saved to. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "ikke" wrote in message ... After you've selected the folder on D: drive the first time, it will be the
default for all other Saves during the current OE session. There's no way to change the default permanently, I'm afraid. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) ikke wrote: I use OE as newsreader to follow aviation related NG's. I'm affraid that's not an option Michael, Save Attachments is greyed out.
Right-click/Save As is availlable, but unfortunately suffers from anmesia between sessions... Thanks for responding, Steven "Michael Santovec" schreef in bericht ... Instead of using Right click, Save Picture, use File, Save Attachments. That should remember the last folder that you saved to. |

If you do this regularly, you can use my OEX program to save all the
pictures in messages to a single directory you specify. See www.oehelp.com/OEX/ steve "ikke" wrote in message ... That's exactly what I'm experiencing... I'm guessing these are HTML messages with embedded images. If you set
Tools, Options, Read, Read All Messages in Plain Text, that will treat the images as attachments and the File, Save Attachments will be enabled. But the images won't display automatically. So that may be more bother than it is worth for you. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "ikke" wrote in message ... I'm affraid so, Michael.
I think I'll switch to XNews, there one can specify a folder for attachments, if needed even a different one for each subscribed NG. XNews also supports YEnc, another benefit over OE. And the best of all: it's free. Bye for now. Steven "Michael Santovec" schreef in bericht ... I'm guessing these are HTML messages with embedded images.
