Hi Dmitry: I don't see much that causes alarm in your log file. I'd really
like to suggest you contact the host for the IMAP server and see if they can resolve why your earlier messages are not being seen. And I would also send them a copy of the log for information. It appears that you have, at most, 10-13 messages on the server. I suspect
that you or some other user has marked some Read messages as due to be purged, and the server has purged them for you. Take a look at your options settings in Outlook Express under Tools/Options/Maintenance and see if there is a check mark in the box "Purge deleted messages when leaving IMAP folders." If that box is checked, it is the most likely cause of why you cannot see your old messages. I'm sorry that your server host is not more helpful and if that is their attitude, I'd start looking about for a new mail host. Your choice. -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/pr...8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped. Thanks Jim Pickering for your suggestions.
There are more than 200 messages in the mail box. I use the mail box through the web interface several times a day. The server has not purged them. I do not know another better provider wich provides pop3, imap, web, wap access to a mail box, good spam defence and spam reporting ability. "Jim Pickering" wrote in message ... .... The newer log is attached. Please, help! The "newer" log 22:17 looks the same as the old one? FWIW I think the best log was the one you posted first (which I see has 552 KB in it and has timestamp 2006-09-12 22:03) In any case, it is the only one in which I see a line like this: extract Line="1586" IMAP: 00:18:53 [tx] uov0 UID FETCH 1:13061 (UID FLAGS) /extract What did you do which caused that? (Notice the [tx]. That means that you did something which caused OE to *send* that request.) Whatever it is I would have expected it to be in both logs which, after all, you are creating in order to compare accesses. Therefore, whatever you do on both systems must be the same and to give the greatest value for the comparison it must be something which is the most complete thing that you can do. After that you can see the status of 67 UID. Why did it stop at 67 unless that is all that there is? Oh. I see why it probably stopped. Look at number 67 (line 1655). extract line="1655" IMAP: 00:18:53 [rx] * 67 FETCH (FLAGS (\Seen) UID 13061) /extract Now go back and look at the second operand of the FETCH. ; ) So, it looks to me that all you have to do is do more of whatever it was that you did to cause that FETCH. I don't have access to IMAP and have never used it. The OE Help doesn't make clear what specific commands your UI offers but I think it does imply that an analogy in NNTP terms may be appropriate. If so, I think you should be trying to find a way to do a Reset and then an immediate Synchronize command. Good luck Robert --- |
