Default Changes to recurring appointments not updating in others' calendar

Dear Outlook gurus,

One of my colleagues is having several issues with Outlook 2003 (and we have
tried reloading Outlook on her PC, creating new profiles, etc. with no
success).

When she attempts to update a recurring appointment in her manager's
calendar, she often gets a "can't change or can't open" recurring
appointment, but it then allows her in. (I now understand this can be fixed
by deleting the forms cache, which we will try soon).

But now more maddening is she updates a recurring appointment in her
manager's calendar, which sends an update to the meeting invitees. The
invitees receive the update, they accept the change (and it sends an email to
her), but it doesn't update their old calendar entry - and they then
accidentally attend the old meeting time (which is rather embarrassing for
them!).

Is this second issue related to the first in any way? Any suggestions why
either of these things are happening? Ideas would be welcomed ...

Cheers

I believe the first is a "known issue" they are working on but I'm not sure
if the second part is related. You can do two things that might help - reset
the view on the folder and delete the forms cache.

Hi Diane,

Thank you for your prompt response. We'll certainly delete the forms cache.
What do you mean by "reset the view on the folder"?

Cheers

http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/resetview.htm - use the second method
if users create custom views as it will only reset the current view; use the
first if they don't normally use custom views as it will remove all the
custom views throughout the mailbox.

If resetting the current view helps a little then stops, use cleanviews
(first method) as it means some other view is corrupted and causing
corruption.
