Default Outlook 2007 recurring appointment error "Cannot open this item"

I have a recurring appointment that I created recently in Outlook 2007.
Today I went to modify it, and all I get is "Cannot open this item". It will
not let me delete it by right clicking, nor will it allow me to drag it to a
different time. Any ideas how to fix this?
