Hi, I have a user who uses the folder list to work rather than using the
"Mail". Recently, he mentioned about a calendar popping up on this Personal Folder under Folder List in Outlook 2003. He argued that it wasn't there intially, it was only recently. I went to check it on websites and found that it had to be there as a default but when I went to create a new Personal Folder in Outlook 2003, it has nothing it in except "Select Items" and "Search Folders", which proved that he was right. Can anyone please help and advise, how can I remove the Calendar in Personal Folders that appear just like that as no other buttons was pressed? Thanks in advance. |

You must be referring to the Ctrl-6 navigation panel, which exposes all folders regardless of type. It's a power user's navigation panel, so nothing is hidden. It is certainly possible to add additional calendar folders to any PST file. I am unclear on what is the actual problem. Please take a screenshot and link to it. -- Leonid S. The Calendar folder (as well as Contacts, Deleted Items, Notes, Tasks, Journal, Outbox, Inbox, Drafts, and for Outlook 2003 and later, Junk E-mail) will ALWAYS appear in any Personal Folders file specified as the delivery location or default data file. Personal Folder files you create that are not configured to be the delivery location or default data file will contain only two folders: Deleted Items and Search Folders. For Outlook 2002 and earlier, the only precreated folder is Deleted Items. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

Thanks Bill for your reply. I understand about the delivery location of the
emails, but in this case, it is set to the Exchange as the default delivery location. As I had said, there wasn't any calendar on the personal folder in the beginning and it just pops up from nowhere which we are trying to get rid off as the user is not happy with having that additional calendar appearing. Have been looking for solutions why did it appear suddenly and finding ways to take it off but till now, hopes looks dim. "Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: "Daniel" wrote in message ... Perhaps this person has designated that PST as an archive PST and Outlook has performed an archive action. That would cause all of the default folders to appear in the PST as well. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |
