Default Distribution List (Outlook 2007)

I have a distribution list with approximately 27 members. Five of those
members are chairs of committees with seven to ten members each. Is there a
way to create sub-lists from the main distubution list to include the
committee members or a way link the committee members (separate distribution
lists) to the main distribution list?

Be easier to use Categories. All members belong to the main category with
the sub-committee members belonging to individual categories for each
sub-committee...

You can make a DL that contains DLs, so you could make a DL for each
committee and add it to the main DL.

We generally recommend using categories instead of DLs though -so you would
assign the main DL category to all 27 and the committee categories to the
appropriate members.
