Default Last name first in Address Book?

First of all the address book view has always been and remains a poor choice
for recipient selection because it is so limited. Outlook provides more
robust options in the various Contact Folder views.
You have only 2 choices for sorting the Outlook Address Book if you feel you
must use it. Go to Tools Account Settings Address Book Tab Outlook
Address Book Change... Set sort order there

How do I get my contacts to list with their last names first?

NOTE: I am not talking about the view that occurs when I go to Contacts
and set the view to "Phone List." There, the "File As" is set to "Last
name, First name," and that's all cool.

I'm referring to the pop up that pops up when I'm creating a new message,
and I click on the "To" button, which causes my Addy Book to pop up. It
has 3 columns: "Name," "Display Name," and "Email Address." In both the
"Name" column and the "Display Name" column, it's "First Name Last Name"

The problem with this is that I can't search by last name.

I wrestled with this years ago, and can't for the life of me remember who
to address. Now, with a new computer, I need help.

Thanks.
