Running Outlook 2007 on Desktop. Purchased a New Laptop with Outlook 2007
and just want to transfer my Address Book\Contacts from the Desktop PC to my
Laptop. I do not want to transfer any other Data...just Address
Book\Contacts.

Can this be done? Please provide step-by-step instructions as I am pretty
much a new to this; Thank You

There is no address book in Outlook. All Contact data resides in your
Contacts Folder. If you want to transfer only that folder, then you would
need to create new empty Outlook data file, copy your Contacts Folder into
that file, then copy that file and open it in the other installation. We

Thanks; when I wrote my question i used Address Book\Contacts because I was
not sure. I looked at the links, they did not address my situation clearly.
You have been very helpful in the past, and I thank you for your continued
assistance.

I see the Contact Folder in my Desktop and see all my names\addresses, etc.
I see the Contact Folder in my Laptop (where I want to transfer just my
contacts to). Could I copy and paste the Contacts from the Desktop into the
Laptop's Contact Folder....and Outlook 2007 will display those contacts?

I didn't understand your New data file...etc. If the above won't work,
could ypu provide more detail as to the steps to follow ......

Sorry, I really didn't intend to offend anyone. I reviewed the links. They
all referred to Outlook versions other than 2007, and all gave instructions
to Backup\Transfer the .pst file....I only want to Transfer my "Contacts". I
do not want to Transfer my Inbox....etc.

They all apply to Outlook 2007 as well and they cover the instance in which
you only want to transfer a portion of your data file. Summarizing the
instructions:
To create the data file, use File New Outlook Data File. Make sure you
keep track of its name and location. Then copy your Contacts Folder into
this file. Close Outlook.
Copy this new data file and open it in the other installation (File Open
Outlook Data File...). Then copy the Contacts from its Contacts Folder to
the Contacts Folder in the current installation.

I am learning.......So I create a New Data file using Outlook on my Desktop
(Again, I am Transfering Contacts from Desktop to Laptop).....and name it
"Transfer" (Transfer.pst). Then copy the CONTACT Folder in the Desktop into
Transfer.pst. When opening Transfer.pst a warning opens alerting you that if
you open the file it can become Corupted???? So I did not proceed. But
assuming you'll reply advising me to ignore the warning, or, set me straight,
I'll copy and paste the entire Contact Folder from the Desktop into
Transfer.pst. I'll close Outlook.

I'll then paste this Transfer.pst file.....in a folder I'll create on the
laptop and Name it TRANSFER. I'll open Outlook in my Laptop and open
Transfer.pst...Outlook is still open......I'll go to the Transfer
Folder\Transfer.pst, open it, copy the Contacts Folder. I'll go to the
Contact Folder on my Laptop...and paste the Contact folder in it.

When I click on the Address Book Icon in Outlook, my Contacts will be
displayed.

I went to the folder where the Data file I created, TRANSFER" was loacated
C:\Usrers\XXXX\AppaData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Tr ansfer

I then copied my Contact Folder off the Desktop PC, I went to open the Data
file I created "Transfer" to paste the Contact Folder in. I got the warning
message.

You've completely mis-understood the instructions. You do all this FROM
WITHIN OUTLOOK....
