When I open up the contacts "folder" I have two contacts files..? One is
empty, the other has all of my contacts...these entries are ones that I would like to see when I hit the open book icon next to the "To:" field in the new mail dialogue. When I hit this open book icon I get the following error message: "The address list cound not be displayed. The Contacts folder associated with the address list could not be opened; it may have been moved or deleted, or you do nothave permissions..." I hit ok and am taken to a select names dialouge box where I can "SHow names from the" -- and drop the arrow and have five different contacts files, selections, whatever they are called. Each selection, except for one, gives me the same error message as above. And I cannot perform a search for names on the one file that does not show the error message. The data file that all of my emails, contacts and calendar is in is huge and has been bruised and abused. I have run the repair utility on it to no avail. I just want to fix it so that I have the use of the contacts features again. Can somebody help? |

You failed to state what you mean by "open up the contacts folder." If you
are simply referring to an invalid reference to a Contacts Folder in the Outlook Address Book view, the method to remove it has been posted here countless times. Not necessary to go through all that. You can easily remove on old reference
without having to remove/readd/reconfigure the entire service. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "CSharpie" wrote in message ...
