When creating a new email I can only select from the personal address book
for recipiants. Contacts does not appear as an option. How do I add contacts as an option? My contacts all appear when I select them in Outlook so they are available. |

Outlook has not used a PAB for many years. You should have added and
configured the Outlook Address Book to your profile instead. Method depends on your Outlook version which you neglected to post. Always post your version if you ask a question. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "domestique" wrote in message ... Thanks for the reply Russ.
My version is Outlook 2003. You may be correct about the PAB for most but I assure you my Outlook is currently using a PAB. It is a holdover from many years of using the product. Does anyone have an answer to the problem of Contacts not showing up as an option for choosing a recipiant of an email. This is a newly built computer. The Contacts list is in tact - the PST file was brought over from the old computer with no problem. The old computer was using Outlook 2003 with no problem - both the PST file and the PAB files appeaed as options for emailing. First, you need to clarify whether your Contacts actually exist in your
Contacts Folder or whether they still reside only in the PAB. You need to migrate away from the PAB as quickly as possible. It is no longer supported and is not even compatible with current version of Outlook . As long as your Contacts are where they belong, just remove the PAB and add the Outlook Address Book instead: http://support.microsoft.com/default...Product=ol2002 -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "domestique" wrote in message ... Thanks again Russ.
Sorry I was not clear enough about clear about the PAB and PST files. In my original email I said "My contacts all appear when I select them in Outlook so they are available" so they actually did exist in my Contacts folder but not as an option to choose from in emails. Now I have figured out the solution. Thanks our reference to the article though. If I hadn't figured it out it would have supplied the answer.
