Outlook has not used a Personal Address Book for years. Why were you? List
the steps you used to "lose" your Contacts. Be sure to include your Outlook version. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Benson Au" Benson wrote in message ... My records in the Personal Address Book are suddenly missing. They are not in the Contacts folder. How can I get them back ? |

Hi Russ,
I am currectly using Outlook 2002. When I click the icon 'Address Book', I choose the 'Personal Address Book' in below of 'Global Address List'. I had some record store in the 'Personal Address Book' that I have a file in PAB store in my D:\Exchange folder. Now the file seems an empty file with only 32 KB. I hope you get what I wrote in the above step. Benson Au "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Outlook has not used a Personal Address Book for years. Why were you? I see. Outlook abandoned the PAB as an information store years ago in favor
of Contact Folders. I know of no methods for repairing or recovering PAB files. Have you checked with your Exchange administrator to see if your PAB was included in the backup of your Exchange mailbox? -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Benson Au" wrote in message ... Since the .pab is a separate file stored locally, it wouldn't be backed up with the mailbox on the server.
It does sound like this .pab may be damaged, though, and as you say, there's no repair tool. It would have been better to have imported its data into Outlook Contacts long ago. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.turtleflock.com/olconfig/index.htm and Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote in message ... That's what I was afraid of. A Contacts Folder would have been, of course.
