Outlook has not used a Personal Address Book for years. Why were you? List
the steps you used to "lose" your Contacts. Be sure to include your Outlook
version.

Default personal address book record missing

Hi Russ,

I am currectly using Outlook 2002.
When I click the icon 'Address Book', I choose the 'Personal Address Book'
in below of 'Global Address List'. I had some record store in the 'Personal
Address Book' that I have a file in PAB store in my D:\Exchange folder.
Now the file seems an empty file with only 32 KB.

I hope you get what I wrote in the above step.

I see. Outlook abandoned the PAB as an information store years ago in favor
of Contact Folders. I know of no methods for repairing or recovering PAB
files. Have you checked with your Exchange administrator to see if your PAB
was included in the backup of your Exchange mailbox?

Since the .pab is a separate file stored locally, it wouldn't be backed up with the mailbox on the server.

It does sound like this .pab may be damaged, though, and as you say, there's no repair tool. It would have been better to have imported its data into Outlook Contacts long ago.

That's what I was afraid of. A Contacts Folder would have been, of course.
