I am new at this, so please bear with me. Recently upgraded from Outlook
Express to Outlook 2003 SP2. I have a DL which I added 42 names to. When I send an email, all the recipients are receiving two emails, one of which is fine, the other is full of rubbish. Any emails I send to individuals in my contact list work fine. Please help me, as this is becoming extremely embarassing as the members in my club think I am sending them a virus. -- Sue |

Are you sure you aren't sending them a virus? There is one other poster who
is having a similar problem, but I've never seen it reported and cannot reproduce it. He claims the recipients are getting the same message twice, not 2 different messages. DL's normally will not survive an import from OE. Have you tried creating one of these DL's from scratch and see if it works? What is the message format you are using and how are you selecting the DL as the recipient? What do you see in Sent Items for this message? -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Sue" wrote in message ... It is a new computer, just purchased before Xmas. At the suggestion of one of
the club members, I deleted the DL & started again, as well as calling it another name. I added each member from scratch. They were not already in my contacts. Because the 2nd email the members were getting was unreadable, I also clicked to have the message sent in plain text. They then received one good email, and one blank. I also included my email address in the DL to see how it arrived. I received (and so did everyone else), one good email, and one blank one. Please help! -- Sue "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Are you sure you aren't sending them a virus? Sorry, also meant to mention that I created another distribution list, with
only two people in it, and it works fine. -- Sue "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Are you sure you aren't sending them a virus? Sorry. No idea. Cannot reproduce the problem. I'll see if anyone else has
seen it. In the meantime, you left out what appears in Sent Items. Might provide a clue. So would your mail transport, which you should post. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Sue" wrote in message ... It is a new computer, just purchased before Xmas. Sent items looks fine on one, but not good on the other. The email addresses
are fine. Sorry, I dont know what you mean by mail transport. How do I find this out? -- Sue "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: Sorry. No idea. Cannot reproduce the problem. What type of email account did you set up for this profile? Also, look at
things you may be doing to these messages that would affect the message as it is being sent such as: 1. Adding a signature that cannot be rendered 2. Using virus scanning on email. 3. Setting a rule for outgoing messages. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Sue" wrote in message ... Sent items looks fine on one, but not good on the other. The email addresses are fine. My e-mail account is a POP/SMTP - is that what you mean?
I have not added a signature or a rule for any messages. I have disabled virus scanning for outgoing e-mails. -- Sue "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: What type of email account did you set up for this profile? Still not finding any similar reports. What makes you think this has
anything to do with a DL? -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Sue" wrote in message ... My e-mail account is a POP/SMTP - is that what you mean? I have not added a signature or a rule for any messages.
