Is there a program or add-on that will check for duplicates in contacts in
outlook 2003?

Default contact duplicates in 2003

first hit on a search:

The duplicate contacts checker handles only the default Contacts
folder and just identifies the duplicate items; it doesn't merge data like
the Outlook ...
