Default email address shown only as name

I want to see the email address of the person to whom I'm addressing email
instead of the name of the addressee. When I select from contacts folder it
only show name. Is there a preference that will show address instead of name?

Thanks,
sjw8585

The Address Book will show the address when you choose the name to add to
the recipient field. WIthin the recipient field, however, the Display Name
will show when you resolve the address. Modify your Display Name fields to
show the address if you wish.

Thanks Brian, Where and how do I modify the Display Name field to show the
address? Can I set that as a default?

Open the Contact record and set the DIsplay Name. It's the "Display as"
field right below the mail address field.

Hi Again, Brian.

I appreciate the help. I am not seeing a "display as" button right below
the email address or the regular mail address. Could that be that I'm
running Outlook 2000?
Where else might I look?

Thanks,

OK, then, double-click the email address. That should open another window
that contains a "Display as" equivalent.

Hi Brian,

Still trying. When I click on the name that is all I see in the email
address area, I get an error message that reads, "Cannot perform the
requested operation. The command requested is not valid for this recipient."
That happens for each contact where the name appears instead of an email
address. Any other suggestions?

Thanks
