The names that pop up when you type in the To field are not coming from your
Contacts. They are in a separate cache of the last 2,000 people to whom
you've sent messages. There are third-party tools that can export that list.

If you connect to your Hotmail account with the Outlook Connecteor, you can
just copy contacts from your Contacts folder to the Hotmail Contacts folder
with drag-and-drop.
