Default Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007

Today I installed Office 2007 over Office 2003 and now having problem with
Outlook 2007. I can get in a see my pst files, but cannot see OST or
whatever the file the file that has inbox, sent mail, contact, etc. I use
earthlink and looks like all set up up. Even contacted them and they made
some changes, but no success. Looks to be an Office 2007 problem.

What steps do I need to take to "import" existing Outlook 2003 in to 2007?

Unless you're connecting to an Exchange Server or your EarthLink account is
an IMAP account, you won't have an .OST file, only .PST files (these are the
containers for Inbox, Sent Items, Contacts, etc.). One of the .PST files
you found should be your old data repository; you can open them from Outlook
using 'File|Open|Outlook Data File' and check their contents. For future
reference, it's better to uninstall an older version of Outlook prior to
installing a newer one; In-place upgrades sometimes corrupts your Outlook
profile. In this case, it created a new, blank, default .PST file which you
shouldn't have to use, if you don't want to.

Ok, I have searched and found one more PST file that was not automatically
used in Outlook 2007. It resides under c:\documents and settings\owner\local
settings\application data\microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst and when I try to do
a file - Import and Export... Import from another program or file, personal
foler file (pst) and choose that file it tells me it cannot be opened.

Is there other steps to add this if this is my default? None of the others
have folders with In box, sent, etc.

'File|Open|Outlook Data File' is what you want, this opens the .PST file for
FULL use in Outlook. Importing/exporting .PST files is a No-No because the
function is broken and has been for some time, it loses data and often
corrupts the Outlook profile in use. If you've already opened the file and
then try to import from it, you'll get an error that the file is in use
(which it is, by Outlook). If you need anything from it, drag and drop it
from the old .PST to the new one. You can also designate the old .PST as
your default and just keep using it.

I actually moved ahead a little. Instead of File - Import and Export... I
tried New - Outlook Data File and added the PST mentioned below and it took
it. I can not see current Inbox, Outbox, Sent Items, etc. It still does not
recognize it when I try hitting Send/Receive. It tells me "Outlook cannot
becasue a data file to send and receive mail cannot be found. To add a data
file, such as a personal foler file, double-click the Mail icon in Windows
Control Panel". Have done this and appears what is needed is there, but does
not recognize it.
