Configuration Error

After doing so outlook would no longer download email and word gave me an error message that stated it needed to be repaired. I attempted to do so but with no success. I then attempted to remove office and could not. I reinstalled office in a different directory. Outlook can now download and word no longer gives me the errror message for repairs. However, when I run outlook it continually tries to configure and prompts me to restart in order for the the configuration to take effect. It does this after the restart as well. I attempted to update office but was unable. I believe it is because their are missing files from the previous attempts to delete office. How do I get outlook to configure and to get the files back to update office? This is my home/work desktop computer. It is not on a network. Operating System: WindowsXP
