POP password not saved in Outlook- KB 290684 fix not working in Vi
Save password setting not retained in Outlook-
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290684/en-us I have 2 computers with the same problem; one Compaq Vista Home upgrade over top of Windows XP and Office XP. Second is Gateway Media Center 2005- did clean (dual boot, just in case) upgrade to Vista Home Premium, then clean installed Office XP. Installed all available updates. In both cases, Outlook does not retain the POP server password. The solution proposed in KB 290684 did not solve the problem. I am not afraid to work in RegEdit. HELP!

I have the same problem on 2 new computers that came with VISTA Home premium
preinstalled. I have installed Outlook 2003, which works fine except that it will not save my password on either the desktop PC or the Laptop. Emptying the password cache has had no effect.
