Default Is there any advantage to segmenting my .PST file?

My Personal Folders file was getting rather larger (~1.2 GB). My suspicion
was that it was causing my nightly backups to be larger than needed. I
created another Outlook data file and moved all folders that tend not to
change over time into it. I also added the new file to Outlook using Tools,
Options (Mail Setup tab) , Data Files...

Does this segmenting give me any other advantages (e.g. fast load time for
Outlook)?

Thanks

not really. it may load a little faster, but your pst wasn't that big to
begin with, so it won't load a lot faster.
