Default outlook exchange under Win2000

Hi,

I have to setup outlook 2003 (on a Win 2000 system)to access an exchange
server. The server seems to be a very new version. The description, I
got, shows an outlook configuration window for the connection which
allows you to tick "use http" and Exchange proxis settings.
Though I installed the latest service pack 2 for outlook, the connection
tab does not show this tick box nor the proxi button.
The mail setup in the windows control panel complains about missing
connection to the exchange server.
They say under XP this works fine. Does anybody know, if there is a way
to make Win2000 play with this exchange server over proxy.

Thanks for any hint.

The HTTPS connection type to Exchange is not supported on the Windows 2000
platform. You will have to upgrade the workstation to Windows XP with
Service Pack 2.
