Default OL drops dial-up connection after send/receive

Outlook is set to do an automatic send/receive when opened. It then
disconnects at the end of the send/receive.

I've checked all the settings I can find and can't get it to stay connected
after an automatic send/receive.

I don't have the box checked for "Hang Up when finished with a manual
Send/Receive". OL will stay connectec when I do a manual send/receive.

Any suggestions on how to get it to stay connected following the automatic
send/receive on startup?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

You must provide at least your Outlook version, mail account type, and the
connection type you specified for that account.
Whenever you enable automatic polling you are telling Outlook to disconnect
a phone line connection after polling by default. --
