When I first installed outlook on this computer all of my AOL in box was transferred over to outlook. Now I am getting my new messages on both computers. What I want is to transfer all my email messages from my home computer to my office computer as what happened when I first installed outlook on my home computer. Is this possible? If I uninstall outlook on my home computer will this transfer all my AOL incoming mail to my office computer, then I can reinstall outlook on my home computer. Will this work, or is there an easier way? Since AOL uses an IMAP account, all the data stays on the server. You can create folders in the IMAP folder set and copy to them whatever you want. If on any other PC you define an IMAP account pointing to that mailbox, you'll see everything in the folders. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] Thanks for all your help, but I am computer illiterate. Could you give me simple step by step explanation of how to do what you suggest so that I can my email finally set up correctly at work.â™* |

I tried to goggle for IMAP as you suggested by I still don't understand how to transfer the IMAP accounts. Can you give me further instructions/guidance. |

I finally transferred by old mail and contacts to my new computer using the
import/export feature. The problem I still have is that my new mail only shows up on my home computer and I set them both as you suggested. I ran a test message on my office computer and it did not show up. Any suggestions? "Brian Tillman" wrote: Bruce wrote: Yes, I believe so. Configure each machine to leave copies of messages on the server. That's on the Advanced tab of the account properties dialogue. Configure one of the machines to delete messages from the server when Deleted Items is emptied and after X number of days. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

I ran another test on the office computer and nothing showed up. But when I hit the send/receive box it showed up. I can't keep hitting send/recieve all day, there must be a better way? |

When I ran a test message on the work computer nothing showed up. However when I hit send/receive on the toolbox the message showed up. There has to be a better way. Can not spend all day hitting the send/receive icon. What do you suggest? Does it matter which computer has the delete from server on it. |

... I ran a test and nothing showed up in new mail. Presumably that involved sending yourself a message? That will not show up any errors. Go to Tools-Account Settings, highlight the account, click on Change, and in that dialog box click on "Test Account Settings". That will come up with error messages that can be used to diagnose the problem. |
