Thank you for your reply, I couldn't find this folder, till I googled
Vista and outlook, etc. The folder for ol2007 is Content.Outlook.... Here is a question for ya. How come showing hidden files and showing system files didn't make this folder visable? Anyhoo. Thanks for the tip - helped me find the answer. /cl "John" a wrote in message ... I try to regenerate this. Here's what I got: "ChinaLamb" wrote in message ... I really hate the fact that I open an email, open the attachment (word or Publisher) , then spend 4 hours editing a document someone sent me. I press save, and close the document. It gets saved in "Temporary Internet Files\may be OLKxx folder" I open Word or Publisher again to work on the file, and It is not in the recent documents list. It is in my MS Word recently opened list. Then I remember that it was an attachment in an email - Open that attachment again, but what I get is the un-edited version. True but when you close your email where the file is attached to, you're asked "Do you want to save changes?" If you click Yes, you will have the updated version (re)attached to that mail. If you click No, the email AND attachment(s) are unchanged (which is normal). The version that I worked on for 4 hours is GONE! It's not. It's in the "Temporary Internet Files\may be OLKxx folder". Take a look. It may still be there. Any way to get these documents back? See above. |

![]() "ChinaLamb" wrote in message ... Thank you for your reply, I couldn't find this folder, till I googled Vista and outlook, etc. The folder for ol2007 is Content.Outlook.... Sorry, the location I gave you earlier was based on WinXP and OL2003. I'm not sure where it is in Vista + OL2007 but it doesn't matter because you've found it. Here is a question for ya. How come showing hidden files and showing system files didn't make this folder visable? I don't know but that's the way it works. My WinXP settings is as follows: Show hidden files and folders (this is selected) Hide protected OS files (this is unchecked) With the above settings, that temp folder is still invisible. How do I know it's there? When I open a .doc email attachment and click Save As, it defaults to that location (in my case it's at C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLK49\). Anyhoo. Thanks for the tip - helped me find the answer. No problem. Btw, Gordon already mentioned this tip on his June 22 reply: [quote] "They are possibly in your Temp or Temp/internet folders......" |
